Biographical summary

In-person consultations in Porto · online consultations from Lisbon and across Europe · English, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian

Dr. Nataliia Lazanovska is a family doctor specialized in General and Family Medicine (Medicina Geral e Familiar). She treats patients from one year of age through the senior years: children from age one, adolescents, adults, pregnant patients, patients with chronic conditions, and elderly patients. She's the doctor to see first — she examines you, assesses your condition, manages your treatment, and when a specialist is needed, she refers you to the right colleague and helps you navigate the Portuguese healthcare system.

Russian and Ukrainian are Dr. Lazanovska's native languages. She studied medicine in Ukraine and speaks both fluently. Consultations can take place in whichever language feels most natural to you — no need to translate medical terms or search for the right words.

About the Doctor

Dr. Lazanovska is a family doctor with a dual profile: planned, continuous patient care and emergency medicine. Since 2017, she has been working in the emergency department of Hospital da Senhora de Oliveira in Guimarães — which means she is comfortable with acute presentations, recognizes when a complaint requires urgent escalation, and doesn't lose composure when decisions need to be made quickly.

She completed her family medicine residency in Vila Velha de Ródão, a small region with a predominantly older population. In her own words, this gave her substantial experience caring for elderly patients: managing multiple chronic conditions simultaneously, adjusting therapy with age-related considerations in mind, and having honest conversations with patients and their families about realistic expectations.

Her approach to consultations is attentive and unhurried. Dr. Lazanovska identifies competence, listening, and empathy as her core qualities — and this comes through in the visit itself: questions are targeted, explanations are clear, and there's room in the appointment to actually talk.

Education and Training

Dr. Lazanovska graduated from the Vinnytsia National Pirogov Medical University (Ukraine, 2008–2014). In 2014, she obtained the equivalence of her medical degree in Portugal at the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar (ICBAS), University of Porto.

In Portugal, she completed the full family medicine specialization pathway: the General Year Internship (Internato do Ano Comum) at Centro Hospitalar Nordeste, Bragança (2016), and her residency in Family Medicine (Medicina Geral e Familiar) at UCSP Vila Velha de Ródão (2018–2022).

In 2023–2024, she completed postgraduate training in Aesthetic Medicine at the Universidad de Alcalá (Alcalá, Spain).

Since 2017, she has been working in the emergency department of Hospital da Senhora de Oliveira (Guimarães). Since 2023, she has been providing online consultations through Medcouple (Porto). Since March 2025, she has been practicing as a family physician at Hospital Privado de Alfena (Porto).
