What tests can I take if I am concerned about my hormones or thyroid?
UMC offers Thyroid Profile and Hormone testing, as well as thyroid ultrasound. The appropriate tests depend on your symptoms and individual situation.
Can I have a thyroid ultrasound when I come to the clinic?
Yes. Thyroid ultrasound is available at the clinic. Laboratory tests and diagnostic studies can be performed without a doctor's referral and are available daily during working hours.
Do I need to see an endocrinologist before having laboratory tests?
No. A doctor's referral is not required to have laboratory tests. You can arrange the tests directly and, if needed, discuss the results with a doctor afterward.
Can I see an endocrinologist for ongoing fatigue or problems with concentration?
Yes. Persistent fatigue and changes in concentration or memory can be reasons for an endocrinology evaluation. The doctor can assess whether your symptoms may be related to an endocrine condition or whether additional evaluation is needed.
